Whitney: I think it's pretty common in psychology where you know it's not always clear what is the dependent variable at what is the independent variable. You see that a person who self-reports at the trait or state level that they're at fine extraversion then engages in social behavior and that's validation of the self-report measure. We've also had the flip where I've been we've been asked to use the extroversion measures to validate the behavioral assessments because they're a novel method.
