The Frozen War Machine
A ram smashed into the wall beside the river gate, setting it on fire. Hark's and her friends tried to get out through a broken tree trunk. A hulking figure came striding from the smoke: Bobb's son. The half giant wedged his clockwork arm between one fallen branch and another. He put his massive back behind it, and slowly, creaking, the log began to rise up. Behind them, the dross were swarming as the frostker fled and edgewater burned. They had pulled their card across half the realm; they could do this again.
