The Growing Pains of New Housing Development in Texas
The issue is really too pronged. What we hear from developers is that they face a series of regulatory barriers to building more housing. And then the other big issue in most Texas cities or it's even more acute in their suburbs is nimbiism, which is not in my backyard. So zoning and people just not wanting anything built ever. Yes, strong resident opposition and elected officials often feel that they need to stand behind their constituents by not approving projects that they don't approve of.
