There are instances, many instances actually of courts in Canada using oral testimony and oral history as a legitimate form of evidence. Catherine: Does this kind of lawsuit have any precedent beyond just that, you know, oral evidence element to it? Are there other examples of such large lawsuits in terms of scope when it comes to resource extraction, either in Canada or elsewhere in the world? Yeah, absolutely. In 2022, there was actually a lawsuit in Ecuador, and what courts ruled there is that indigenous people, it's not enough to just be consulted. They actually have to give their consent.
