The Competing Theories of Borderline Personality Disorder

There are lots of different ways to understand how personality related problems develop. We now know about borderline personality disorder specifically a lot more than we did biologically even 10 years ago but if you go back 20 years ago people used to think that the cause of borderline personality disorder was bad parenting just plain and simple bad parenting. And what we now know is that trauma is neither sufficient to cause it or necessary to cause it.
