iceland secured its first ever team olympic medal in the sport of men's hand ball. I lifted my unopened can of beer into the air and shouted, ya. Although i did not know what we were celebrating, i felt exultant. The only time i'd seen any public celebrations of a national event was 19 99, when the us Women's national socker team won the world cup.
