"I was charged with conspiracy to assassinate Stalin. Our real guilt was that we were well-educated and smart youngsters," he says. "My will was always broken and I confessed, but I confessed only in being an anti-Soviet person." He is currently serving a sentence of five years for his part in the assassination plot.
