The Future Isn't Very Well Distributed
i and martin were working on a magazine called viewpoint, which offered a view of the future. It was led by a visionary publisher whose motto was very much to think and act with the mind of the consumer. Andt with regard to newness, or life style, or really how increasingly a category, change was being driven by the consumer. One of the sort of the influencing factors that led martin and i to set the business up was an insight from the american writer and thinker william gibson who famously said, the future has already happened. It just isn't very well distributed.
