Cicero's Strategy in the Case Against Verrais

Cicero's strategy was really to just make Verrais look as criminal as possible. He builds the case so that he kind of ends with this situation where Verrais seems to have flogged a Roman citizen in public which is a no-no. So what benefit did this case have for Cicero? Well because he ended up being successful indirectly you get more supporters that way. If you are a good prosecutor then people will ask you to defend them and once you defend them then they owe you something.
