He gets really sick as a child because he's like going through the process that they eventually come up with a name for, wait, I don't remember what the word is for it. And when he wakes up from this illness, he leaps into the body of his mother and then his father,. Then at some point along the way, he loses consciousness and which he recalls as as sort of lasting for, I think, a couple hundred years Because he's basically leaping from body to body to body.
