The Corinthian Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Gifts of the Holy Spirit are given by God in such a way that they don't necessarily sanctify us. They're an ordinary feature of the Christian life, which is kind of the reason for which we've dedicated these special episodes to them. The Corinthian gifts are not. St. Thomas introduces his discussion of them in the Sumothaeologia: You got some things that pertain to everybody and then he says, you've got some things which pertain to some. These aren't necessarily for the kind of growth or sanctification of the individual, so much as they are for the edification or the building up of the church.
