The Battle of the Bulge

There was definitely a quiet strength about him, that love of life. I think he loved waking up to the challenges of whatever life had in store for him. It's hard to imagine somebody finding gratitude in the midst of something like the battle of the bulge. Being grateful and feeling the gratitude right is one thing; it's another thing to live with that grat ant to go make the most of that day.
