How Do You Reach Out to Influencers?

In the early days, when you were reaching out to different creators or influencers, what were you looking for to make sure that they represented the same values? I think just the obvious that they were just genuine, nice people. When we would reach out, I'm not gonna name the influencer, but it was always a balancing act of influencers reaching out to us and us sending them products.
