Is There a Connection Between Physical Reasoning and the Physical Scene?

The phenomenon is not that like someone watched something changing and then something stopped changing. You would just remember it just as being where it was. So in a sense, we're testing some kind of intuitive physical reasoning, but in this very indirect way, right? Does our physical understanding of the scene leave traces in other processes in our minds that show up in our behavior? It's nice to be able to test something you're interested in without actually asking your subjects anything about that phenomenon. And then your question sort of emerges in the data.
