I Don't See Christianity as a Moral Doctrine or a Source of Morality or Upholding Morality
i completely agree with you that christianity is about much more than morality. i don't see it as primarily needing to be justified in terms of its morality or even its historical effects on humanist morality. like you i see the main point of it as being an experience of the divine and a consciousness vastly greater than their own. for them no god exists and humans take the place of god as the pinnacle of creation as the ultimate consciousness in the universe. I think secular humanists can be just as moralist christians but they put all their emphasis on morality rather than transcendence, mystical experience or pilgrimage. It's one reason for the ecological crisis because it puts human values vastly above all
