The Importance of Diversity Statements in the Admissions Process
In many places, diversity statements are used to ferry out the candidates that can identify themselves as the diversity candidates. And in some places, they actively used to trim and remove the candidate. So if you write something like, Oh, I will just read everyone the same and try to be the best teacher, you will be ranked the lowest in the diversity.
