Is There Any Way to Validate Goal Progress?

Most psychological research in personality domains is largely reliant on self assessment. We can't prove that if somebody wrote down, i want to be a hap ori be a better friend the start of the year, very difficult to measure. And also, we don't know their bench mark of progress. So at the end of the day, it's easier for us to just rely on them to hopefully be like, somewhat a maybe not accurate, but at least honest in their assessment. The greater your perceived good life coherence, the happier you were, the more goal progress you had, and a, the more autonymous motivation you experienced.
