The time when you're going to have to think about softening your English is in these more formal contexts. It's really common to use seem, the verb seem with an adjective. So for example, this isn't right, which is quite a direct phrase, we could kind of change to, well, this doesn't seem to be right. We're not saying like 100% this isn’t right but maybe it is.
