The Beginning of the New Exodus
In Hosea 11, it says they shall appoint for themselves one head and they shall go up from the land. That phrase in Hosea is the exact same as the phrase in Exodus 1 10,. And then right after that, in 3, 5, the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. It's almost as though the original Exodus and the new Exodus are being fused in Matthew's presentation of what's happening in Jesus.
