Writing in Japanese
There is an approach to writing in japanese that's traditional and it doesn't work in english. One of my doctoral students, who did all her doctoral work in English, when she writes something in Japanse can be very sophisticated and poetic. I think that the american ivy league university presses ae going to be slower to accommodate them then them.
