The Imposition of an Ideology in Islam

Islam was not defined by this desire to impose one version or one reading over society. Spain once had a 900-year period of Islamic rule, but that all came to an end with the Inquisition. There are four main schools of jurisprudence in Islam: Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki and Hambali. People in South Asia are Hanafi; people in North Africa are Maliki while Saudi Arabia is Hanbali.
