CHAPTER

The Stable State Question - How Will Failures Cascade?

A lot of big failures ultimately have, in their kind of root cause, not just something happening to the physical topology. And so you have all o these rotating machines, and each individual machine has some inertia. If one speeds up er slows down, that can essentially put force on another machine to speed up or slow down. This is a critical slowing down pon. The extent to which how generalizable that is depends in part on kind of having a whole bunch of other data sets.
