We're no longer seeking to engage in a self delusion or deception, of taking the characteristics that god made us with and using them to fuel and feed our sinful desires we don't want. We've gone from moslems taking the old catholic cathedrals of europe and putting the crescent there and claiming them as their own, till now we're just nihilists. I cannot tell you how many horror films are being made. About the demonic realm, acknowledging that transcendence exists, but a righteous, spiritual realm as an answer to it is never even considered.
