Plato was one of two students of the philosopher socrates. He wrote dialogues, which are usually called platonic dialogue. They're an entire sort of fictional world that only really the greatest writers might produce. In these dramas, socrates is the protagonist and he appears in almost every single Platonic dialogue. So we have a kind of story making, not philosophy, but the philosopher the centre of attention.
