The Practice, Not the Performance
You have to run towards things that are hard. That doesn't always mean you check that coat into production, but you have to experience it. I thinkht i could learn a lot about how data bases work by building my own toy data base system. But i should never like actually using yo. It's more of a learning experience. You will certainly learn more doing that than if you just rode different web scrapers the same way over and over. This is not going to produce an artifact i can use. It's just to ep me get better. And i'm aget with that.
