The Rise of Southwest Airlines in the First Quarter

The industry is getting ready for what should be a very busy summer. American shares lost 7.5% of their value in April among the 10 airlines I looked at. The only other airline with a positive gain for April was Alaska Airlines, Hat Tip to Alaska. United is the year to date winner, up 16% through the end of April. Americans revenue gains haven't been as strong as other airlines.
