Dividends Are Challenging

Dividends are challenging for their own reasons, though. Government doesn't want you given straight stock to people. They view it as compensation that needs to be taxed immediately. But how do you tax something when you can't know its value? I've had my own challenes with that because i've built a career around starting companies or advising for companies and taking equity.
