How to Write a Fantastic Beginning
The biggest mistake that can be made in plotting the beginning is trying to fit too much into the beginning. Authors, first early authors, and I sometimes still do this. We don't need to know everything right up front. Your readers don't know when it gets good, so it has to get good right off the bat. There you go. Good answer. And I'm paraphrasing. I expect more of me.
