CHAPTER

Would You Want Your Memory to Make Me Happy?

Seneca writes two letters called consolations. One to his mother and then one to the grieving daughter of a friend of his. If you could ask them, would you want me to think about our old apartment and be filled with despair or would you want your memory to make me happy? They would have worse think of the latter, right? Like they would want they would it would be weird if you weren't sad that they were gone.
