The Importance of Orthographic Mapping in Teacher Education
Teaching spelling is basically just giving them a list of words and you know they've just got to work out how to spell those words or you know remember them cover it and copy it down again. So what do we need to do well big view is that initial teacher education has got to improve. There's lots of work to be done and there's no overnight solution but it starts with teachers being wordsmiths and then teaching children to be wordsmiths as well yeah awesome.
