Prick-Aptan shares a letter from Seneca entitled on festivals and fasting. In this letter you'll find some of the basis for the often suggested activity of cold showers. We will discuss pre-meditatio melorum after we've heard the letter. It shows much more courage to remain dry and sober when the mob is drunk and vomiting, but it shows greater self-control to refuse to withdraw one'sself into the crowd.
