Napoleon's Greatest Achievement
In 1801, the Treaty of Loonaville was signed that took the Austrians out of the war. And in 1802, Bonaparte was even able to negotiate peace with France's most implacable enemy, Great Britain. For the first time since 1792, France was not at war with anyone. So Napoleon got to work fixing a country that had started a revolution over 10 years earlier because its affairs had been so poorly managed.
