Lekitia was born in 19 75 area. She spent a lot of her childhood in small city called kinkake, about 60 miles south of chicago. Over forty % of the population in kinkake is black. While she was growing up, the city had high poverty and crime rates. Lakitia said that when she was around nine years old, her mam came short on the rent money,. They moved into their car, a maroon kreisler, and lekitha's mam went back to sex work.

With the end of Roe v. Wade, Louisiana has become one of the most difficult places in the United States to get an abortion. The barriers are expected to disproportionately affect Black women, the largest group to get abortions in the state.
