Using the Pitrous Part of the Temporal Bone
We're trying to protect the bones from us, rather than protect ourselves from anything on the outside. Anything that ends in lysis means that it's basically exploded. So when we sample a bone for a diana, we actually try to use one of the hardest parts of the skeleton which is the pitrous part of the temporal bone. And then again, to avoid the surface contermination, we tend to cut the bone open.
