The Importance of Eels
Eels hatch in the Sargasso Sea, which is West Indies way, Bermuda. They burrow into river mouths and estuaries across Europe for up to 12 years. Some of them can live in a pool for up to 30 or 40 years before they feel the call back home. No one's ever seen an eel spawn. It's crazy. So there are temporary bands that have been put in place in the UK.
