A colleague of mine at Stanford, Ali Crum, who works on mindset and belief effects, talked to me about a study they did where people often will buy us their set up. Their sense of daytime wakefulness based on their sleep score more than their subjective score. So it seems to me that combining subjective and objective data is probably best. And I do believe that you should trust your own physiology and the way that your body is telling you to feel.
