The Impact of Poor Air Service on Africa's Economy
Adi Falaqui Ade-Yae-yeh is Assistant Professor of Commercial Law at Durham University. She agrees that Africa as a whole is missing out on business, tourism, and trade because of its poor air service. It's quicker and more practical to use air for cargo too, isn't it? Yes, but then there's a problem. For example, if you wanted to fly between Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo, you might naturally need a connecting time of between nine to ten hours. If you were going to take a direct flight, it would only take you about two hours trying to just get from one place to the other in Africa.
