The Future of Cochlear Implants

Cochlear implants are indicated for individuals who would not have access to spoken language through with just hearing aids alone. In the US, that is typically for infants that are 12 months and up. So there is a significant amount of time when children, even if they do qualify for a cochlear implant, are not going to get it until they are at least a year old.
