Is Latin Native to Italy?

Is latin native to italy, or is it an import so what was the origin of latin? Well, latin is the language spoken in lasham, which is the area and rome centre west of the italian peninsula. It's i italic language, so it belongs to a family of languages called italic. And there were others which have died out, like oscan and umbrian are the famous ones on the peninsula. Greek was also spoken very widely in the south, but that comes from a different branch of the language family. So ultimately it derives, we think, from a language called proto inda, european.
