Speaking of Psychology

CHAPTER

Is There a Resisting Force in Reducing Resilience?

Friction has more of a a negative connotation. So it's making it more difficult instead of easier. It is a resisting force that you can use to help control behaviors you don't want, but it's also a force that reduces resistance. There was a great study done with our cel phones, tracking celphones. And what they found is that people who travel three point, about three and a half miles on average, went to a jim five times a week. But people who travelled over five miles went only once a week on average. That duces the friction, makes it easier to go, and then you're much more likely to actually follow through on your resolution.
