Is There a Trial or a Punishment?

Muslims should never ever presume and think that Allah is punishing us for the sake of punishment this is not in our theology. Every pain and anxiety that happens to us it is a mini punishment if you like. We have good thoughts of Allah Allah punishes some people for the sakeof punishment and their punishment in the next life will be worse we should always assume that's not us. There is no such thing as a punishment in our in our trials as I explained  it's not a binary that a punishment and a trial are both simultaneously at some level.
