The Transition to Philosophy

I think that philosophy plays at least two very important roles in this enterprise. The first is identifying crucial injustices and then also identifying a reform idea that really solves the problem. We now have just about the same dilemma in climate change as we have with medicines. Innovators who find ways of producing energy more cleanly but these innovations are difficult to achieve. If you have a new clean technology you can be rewarded not just by the right of marking up your product but on the basis of how much emissions you save. In that case UNcentives reverse. You now want very much everybody to use it.
