Octopuses Have a Dual Consciousness

We usually think about consciousness as having a single r and for humans, that's usually behind the eyes. This makes sense because our nervous system is highly centralized. But this is totally different from the way that octopuses experience the world. They have a centralized consciousness but their neurons are much more distributed throughout their body with most of them in their arms. And so one arm doesn't necessarily even feel like it's part of the same self as another arm. O, so it just moves between duality and unity. We know that octopus can also do that.
