Zeus, a Messenger of the Gods

Persephone had been sent to the underworld by her father, Zeus. She was going to preside over newly dead souls. But she felt a sense of responsibility for them and wanted to stay. Her mother would be very upset if she were not with her. Zeus asked his messenger Hermes to go fetch percerphone. When he returned zeus told him about Persephone's desire to remain in the underworld. He also said that things could not continue this way. Humans were suffering. There would be no one left to rule over if he did nothing.
