Are Naps Necessary?

A topic that comes up a lot in sleep is napping. Do they help you recover from a lack of sleep? So I would say naps are always a good thing as far as I've read. Now, there's got to be a point where at some point the nap, if it's long enough in duration, I probably would start interfering with your nighttime sleep, wouldn't you think?
