In Tahiti apparently anger is upregulated or hypercognized and sadness is downregulated or hypocognized. So as a result into he T basically you've got more angry people but fewer sad people. It's an example of how this is affected culturally. Two important things so affect and cognition are inseparable This is actually an idea that I know from Tibetan culture and to some extent from Tibetan Buddhism.
