Alchemy and Its Roots

In the forge and the crucible, alchemy posed as a sacred science. Chemistry came into its own when substances had shed their sacred attributes. We have unconsciously imbibed the ontology of science where we have mind firmly separated out from world. But in an earlier age, some writers would say, a more naive age, i wonder about that mind and matter were seen to be alloyed together throughout nature.
