Surgical Treatment of Lymphatic Malformations

A foam scleroscent is usually administered to increase the surface area in dwell time. Acoustic lymphatic malformations are usually treated conservatively because sclerotherapy has mixed outcomes. Fibrosis will generally continue for one to two months after treatment, and follow-up should be performed every two to three months depending on the clinical scenario. Some options do include interstitial bleomycin or radiofrequency ablation,. In the case of malformations associated with superficial cutaneous vesicles, laser therapy can be considered.
