If you feel a desire to be closer to your family and your other friends, pick up and move. What region of the country has the greatest long-term economic potential? Where are the costs of living the lowest, the wages, the highest and the taxes, the lowest? There's so many things that you could ask. But after years of thinking about those optimization perspectives, I've realized that most of that answers don't really matter.
