Getting Started With Your Magic System
The first stage is idea generation. This is where you want to brain dump absolutely everything that your magic system could be. And then in stage two, it's linment, which is where you look at what your magic system needs to be. Then stage three is definition. Now you are actually hammering out what it can do,. picking the very specific ideas that you want to keep and develop. It makes it much, much easier once you have your seed crystal. You aren't having to force it. There's no such thing as wasted planning. You can always pick it up and use it in a different system. Don't ever forget that.
